Karen Lisborg

Karen Lisborg (Mrs. L) has spent the past 8 years at WRNS as a teacher’s aid and, like many of the other staff members, one of her children attended WRNS 13 years ago. While searching for a pre-school, she remembers her son insisting he go to Winton Road because he loved the playground. She holds a BA in American Studies from Hollins University and holds a strong commitment to the school’s semi-cooperative philosophy and the faculty and families that make it such a caring and nurturing environment.

One of the things she likes most about the school (besides the children) is the Friday Fun Time program because with a smaller group of children she finds the environment more conducive to working on group projects. She also enjoys playing in the sandbox, making sand castles, going out two times a day and reading books to the children. Because she is in the Art Room for the whole year, she encourages the children to remind her to get the paint out.
